Biography
First and foremost, Irisley Luis-Gómez is passionate about putting music out into the world. She is a classically trained guitarist, bass player, composer, and versatile musician. She has performed internationally in Cuba, Mexico, and the US and has a strong presence in the Boston music scene as a Performer, Educator, and emerging, Music Manager and Producer. She is the Executive Producer for C&B Productions, whose most recent video production, La Raza by Anibal Cruz and Keisel Jimenez, was released in February 2021. By the end of the year, C&B Productions launched a series of concerts called Art Point that features local and internationally acclaimed artists.
Irisley is the bass player and manager for the Boston-based band Clave & Blues. She has showcased this talented group at WBUR CitySpace Radio Station, the Franklin Park Concert and Art Festival with the Boston POPS-Symphony Orchestra, the Lawrence Jazz Festival, Berklee College of Music, Harvard University, The Tito Puente Music Series, Johnny D's, and many others. She has recorded and shared the stage with local and international musicians and touring artists such as Manolo Mairena, Yaure Muñiz, 3NITY Band, Rumbarroco, Vivienne Aerts, Jimmy Bosch, The Boston Guitar Orchestra, Zayra Meneses, and many others.
Irisley's music career began early with singing in her hometown Ciego de Avila, Cuba. From age ten, she received a thorough performing arts education at the Elementary School of Art at Ñola Sahíg Sainz, the Jose White Conservatory in Camaguey, and The University of Arts (ISA), Havana. She won her first National Guitar Competition, Amadeo Roldan, in 2009; in 2011, she was invited to Mexico for debut solo performances at the CUCOSTA, the University of Guadalajara, Isla Cuale and Biblioteca Los Mangos in Puerto Vallarta. Irisley has since performed at Music Festivals such as Plectro Habana, The Jazz Spring Festival in Mexico, the Boston GuitarFest at Jordan Hall, Beantown Jazz Festival.
