Biography

Rebeca Blandón is a documentary filmmaker, editor, and producer. She has an extensive background in investigative documentaries, having worked for PBS Frontline and The New York Times. Rebeca has also served as a multimedia journalist for The Boston Globe.

As a former film fellow at The Bronx Documentary Center and The Jacob Burns Film Center, she directs, shoots, and edits her own short films. Rebeca is a proud member of Brown Girls Doc Mafia, The Video Consortium, and BIPOC Doc Editors.

Born and raised in the Bronx to Nicaraguan parents, Rebeca graduated from Brown University in 2016 with a Bachelor's in Neuroscience. In 2019, she received her Master’s from NYU’s News & Documentary program at the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute.

Rebeca is dedicated to making the invisible visible through the practice of compassionate storytelling, accountability journalism, and documentary filmmaking.

Education

Brown University - She graduated from Brown University in 2016 with a Bachelor's in Neuroscience.

NYU Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute - In 2019, she received her Master's from NYU's News & Documentary program at the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute.
