Biography

Kristalis Sotomayor Matos is a Puerto Rican flutist who began her musical journey at age four under her father's guidance. By ten, she was a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of Puerto Rico. She studied with renowned flutists Emmanuel Pahud and Jeffrey Khaner and won a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music at fifteen. At Berklee, she played with Grammy winners like Paquito D’ Rivera and Kurt Elling. Kristalis, a Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation Scholarship recipient, performed at the Latin Grammy Awards in 2022 and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Flute Performance at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
