Biography

Daniel Irizarry is a Puerto Rican-born experimental theater director, performer, and educator based in NYC. Known for his visceral, stylized acting and audience engagement, he is the Artistic Director of One-Eighth Theater and a lecturer at MIT. His work spans globally, directing productions like Retratos in Chile and My Onliness at the Sibiu International Theatre Festival. Irizarry has performed and directed in renowned venues such as La MaMa’s Ellen Stewart Theatre and New Ohio Theatre. He has taught workshops worldwide and holds an MFA from Columbia University and a BA from the Universidad de Puerto Rico.
